A few answers.
So you can feel at home.
A little clarity before we make something worth remembering. If your question isn’t here, I’d love to hear from you.
Booking & planning
How do I book, and how far ahead should I inquire?
Start with the contact form or email me with a little about your session, your preferred dates, and who we’re photographing. About a month ahead is a good starting point, but you’re always welcome to ask about closer dates. For tournaments, you can check my availability before the final schedule is released—even if exact game times won’t be available until the week of the event.
How do payment and retainers work?
A $60 retainer is due at booking for Media Day, sports portraiture, and team action photography, and counts toward your package total. The remaining balance is due before photography begins. I accept cash when we meet or Venmo beforehand; for games, payment must be complete before kickoff. Retainers must be paid at booking, even when you plan to pay the balance in cash.
What if we need to reschedule or the weather changes?
I’ll make every effort to find another date with you. Your non-refundable retainer can transfer to a rescheduled session with at least 72 hours’ notice. Requests made with less notice are reviewed individually. Weather-related changes and canceled games are handled separately: when conditions allow, I can photograph games in rain, or we can arrange coverage at another game. Sports portraits may also be photographed indoors.
Where do sessions take place? Do you travel?
I primarily serve Mesa, Gilbert, Scottsdale, and Queen Creek, and I’m happy to recommend favorite locations. There is no travel fee within 20 driving miles of my starting point in ZIP code 85209. Locations more than 20 and up to 40 driving miles away carry one $20 travel fee. Trips beyond 40 miles are quoted individually—tell me what you have in mind.
Can you help us choose outfits?
You don’t need an elaborate wardrobe to make meaningful family photographs. I keep things low-maintenance, and I’m happy to brainstorm ideas with you. My outfit-planning guide shares a few simple ways to coordinate what you already have. Read my outfit guide ↗
What if my children are shy—or someone really dislikes photos?
You don’t need a family of professional models. I work efficiently, keep things relaxed, and make room for play, distractions, and snuggles with whichever parent feels most comforting that day. As a mother of five with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, I understand that children need patience and flexibility. We’ll work with them, rather than force a moment.
Sports & Media Day
Should I book Your Athlete or The Game Story?
Choose Your Athlete when you want photographs of your specific player. Choose The Game Story when you want the experience of a game documented for the team. I try to include everyone in team coverage, but cannot guarantee every athlete will appear: playing time, injuries, and other circumstances affect what I can capture.
Can parents combine bookings to meet the game minimum?
Yes. Include the names and contact information of the other interested parents in your inquiry so we can coordinate. Sharing my website in the team group chat is often an easy way to find other families who want coverage.
What should our team arrange before Media Day?
Choose one team contact to coordinate communication, and confirm that your gym or field is available for the session. Decide which jersey everyone will wear; I’m happy to discuss the look with you. Players should bring their sporting equipment, such as soccer balls, or arrange to share. We can discuss props together beforehand.
Do you photograph other sports or session types?
Soccer is my specialty, but I have experience photographing a wide range of people and occasions. If your idea isn’t listed on the website, send me an inquiry. I’m happy to talk about what you have in mind and whether I’m the right fit.
Your photographs
How many photographs will I receive, and when?
The number of photographs depends on your package; please see the individual service description for what’s included. Photographs are professionally edited and delivered digitally through an online gallery. Sports action photographs are delivered in 2–3 days, Media Day photographs in 1–2 weeks, and family photographs in 2–3 weeks. Explore services →
Can I purchase additional action photographs?
Sometimes. Additional photographs depend on how many strong images I captured of your player. Booking five images does not mean ten will necessarily be available afterward, so choose the package that best fits what you want from the start. I deliver a maximum of ten images of an individual player from a single game.
How long will my gallery and archived photographs be available?
Online galleries are available for two months and may then be removed to make room for new collections. Please download your photographs promptly and keep your own secure backup. I retain past client sessions for up to four years; retrieving an available archived session carries a $20 un-archival fee.
Are photographs edited? Will I receive RAW files?
All delivered photographs are professionally edited. Family sessions and sports portraiture include retouching. I do not deliver unedited photographs or RAW files.
Can I keep my photographs off your website and social media?
Yes. Tell me that you do not want your photographs—or your player’s photographs—shared publicly, and leave the optional model release unsigned. We can discuss your preferences before the session.
