Andrew held my hand, encouraged me to go just a little bit longer, and believed in me. When I delivered our second baby girl, I'd never felt more powerful or more love towards my husband. After that moment, I knew that I could trust him no matter what, and every time I look back on that experience, I feel an overwhelming sense of joy and peace. Seeing my family together after the transformation of labor is the closest I have ever felt to Heaven.

I had taken one birth course before I birthed my second child. One course to prepare me for labor where the only thing I remembered was the "hee hee who" breathing technique. My husband stood by my side and breathed with me, tapping his toe in rhythm because it gave me something to focus my attention on as the Pitocin worked its way through my body.

Now, with 4 children enriching our lives, I want others to experience the intimate connection that I felt so strongly with my husband that day we welcomed our second child, and the births that followed after. Oftentimes, fathers want to be involved in the birth experience, but don't know how. As a licensed doula, I see it as a part of my calling to educate fathers and give them guidance on how they can best support the birthing mother so that they can achieve a trusting, confident, and even peaceful birth experience... and have it documented, too. With 9 years of creative media education, I am confident in my ability to preserve birth in it's raw and authentic nature while also capturing the intimate details that speak volumes - AND support mom and dad as a doula.
